Weight: 70 gr. (approx.) vacuum packed slice. Ingredients: Roe mullet (mugil cephalus), salt. Caught in FAO AREA 34. Without dyes or preservatives. Description: Amber color and unrepeatable taste: the mullet roe is considered the caviar of the Mediterranean sea. It is a food obtained from drying and salting of mullet eggs, according to specific and traditional processes. The cephalopod (or mullet), once caught, is deprived of the egg-containing sack which is subsequently salted, dried, pressed and seasoned. In Sardinia it was widespread to consume as an appetizer or as a pasta dressing, grated as the cheese ("mullet roe spaghetti" recipe). Delicious also as an appetizer, cut into slices with olive oil, or rested on crunchy croutons. Conservation: Refrigerate at +2/4°C.
